Important News

I’m heading out of town in less than eight hours. My parents are moving, and I’m being the dutiful son, so I'm going to help with the move. So, I’m about to hit the hay and rest up for the trip.

So, to tide you over, I’m going to do a bunch of linking to lots of various things. Get ready! Get Set! Go!

  1. Afghanistan has its first entertainment television channel, three years after the fall of the radical Taliban regime that banned the medium.
  2. Lakers go up 3-1 in Western Conference Finals.
  3. Abu Hamza Masri is arrested on terror charges
  4. NEC-Business Network Solutions, a unit of NEC America, will plead guilty to defrauding a U.S. government program to help needy schools use the Internet.
  5. World War II Memorial opens.
  6. Bomb threat found on American Airlines jet.
  7. Larry Harmon loses award for Bozo
  8. Michele reports that her son DJ made the local All-Star Team. Congrats man! It’s all gravy now.
  9. Trojan author arrested
  10. There was a hearing in Capitol Records et al. v. Alaujan, one of the RIAA’s sue-our-customers cases. The Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard Law School submitted an amicus curiae brief on behalf of the court (instead of one party or the other), and the RIAA’s attorneys think they’re “off base.” Read the brief and decide for yourself (especially if you like reading legal briefs). But if you don’t… hey, they’re only suing you for something someone else might have done instead.

And that’s the way it is, on May 28, 2004.

Good night and God bless America.
